This last week, our teams began eagerly and restlessly searching our bibles on how to become a disciple of Christ. We began to take literally the red words we read, knowing the power that was in them. We spent time fasting, giving food to the poor, sharing meals with the poor, worshiping, teaching His word, praying together, and miracles were happening. We would wake up at 5am every morning in order to spend two hours of solitude with the Lord, and after that, our day would be filled with ministry, sometimes until midnight. We spend hours in the night taking prayer shifts from 11pm-5am, and then wake up again in the morning. It was tiring, we were hungry, and we were weary. But God worked, and he was with us the whole time, and he let us see his kingdom more and more each day. God is amazing isn’t he! On friday, we had some time to do laundry, take showers, and rest. At about 5pm, the leaders called us in for a short meeting. At this point, we had no idea what to expect! They began telling us that even though Jesus was always in ministry, and even though he was found on the streets preaching, he was also found at the parties, enjoying the company of his people. At this, our leaders told us that our adopted families would be joining us for dinner that night. We were so excited, I couldn’t wait to see Gris, Oscar, Estrella, and Oscarito (little oscar). Our leaders had prepared a feast for us. There were candles, guacamole, meatloaf, potatoes, green beans, cookies, and a creamy strawberry pie. Sitting with our families and sharing that meal was amazing.

One thing that I loved about this opportunity, was that even though the whole week was hard, and we were hungry, and we were tired, we saw Christ in all we did. And even though we all enjoyed this time, and we were full, satisfied, happy, and laughing, we saw Christ. We got a taste last week of what it means to live in the fullness of Christ. I cant wait for more! (And feasting too!) hahaha.

Blessings!
