One day at a time…
The constant commotion of being a missionary is both exciting, and draining at times. Being young adults, we are faced with the popular question of “what do you want to do with your life?” Some of the people here will be attending four year universities after this, others going to work, others going into full time missions, others unaware. As some of you know, I have been looking a many schools for a nursing degree, that I hope to use for missions in the future. Like my dad, I am a planner, and I like knowing what I’m going to do in advance. Of course, God has a sense of humor and at times tests my patience, and trust in him. He often asks the question, “Alison, do you REALLY trust me?” I know in the end, it will make me a stronger person, but its so hard to wait!
Jesus says in Matthew 6:25,
“Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important that food, and the body more important than clothes?”
Jesus makes it seem so easy, he tells his disciples that God will provide for them what they need, when they need it. I KNOW deep down in my soul that God will provide the right school at the right time, but its so hard to wait for that. Just a little later in Matthew 6:33-34 it says this,
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
God doesn’t tell us not to have a plan, he tells us not to worry. He tells us to seek first the kingdom. In 1st Peter 5:7, it says “Cast all your anxiety on him for he cares for you.” And then again in Psalm 52:8, it says “I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.” For me, the word TRUST stands out more than anything. He loves us soooo much that we need to trust in his love, for ever and ever! In in 1st Peter, we need to give all of our worries and cares to God, because he cares for us. It seems so simple and easy when we read about it, but when God puts it to use in our lives, it can be so hard. I have hope in Him who gives me strength, I know it will be okay. I just ask that you will pray for me as I figure out the plans God has for me.
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

Praying for you…and God’s plans for you now, and in the future! Bless you.
You will still be praying those prayers when you are 50! Love you so much, praying for you always!
