Last week we learned how to build foundations and make a house. Each team was given a certain amount of supplies and we were to build a house using the knowledge given to us earlier in the day. Within three days, we made a 4x8ft house. In no way was this a “noahs ark”, but it took a lot of patience and working together. We were only allowed to use a hand saw and a hammer and rusty nails. Each team was given one piece of plywood, a bag of cement, 30 2×4’s that were 8ft long, and a bucket of rusty old nails. Our group decided to use an old tire we found for our window, in order to save a little wood. In the end, our house turned out great and we realized how much fun we had had, but it sure was a hard experience! Here are some pictures of our time.
Nadia and I mixing cement!
hammering with Tara! Making the frames This was a common occurance 🙁 rusty nails. haha
Our finished product! (without the ceiling or actual walls) I think we did quite well! See the tire window!
Welcome to my house! Im so glad we finished!

That would have been a fancy outhouse for that family that you dug holes for.
